doliFARM: digital infrastructure for farms, territories and agroecological communities
doliFARM develops digital tools and infrastructure that connect farm management, data, traceability, collaboration and research. An ecosystem designed for farms, bio-districts, territorial networks and innovation projects that want to reduce fragmentation and build more continuous processes.
Four doors, one infrastructure
One ecosystem, four fields of application
Four areas doliFARM works in, on a single shared infrastructure.
Farm software can do far more than digitise a single activity
Many farms still work with information scattered across paper logbooks, spreadsheets, specialised applications and separate management systems. doliFARM exists to reduce that fragmentation and create continuity between what happens in the field, the processes of the business, and its relationships with networks and territories.
The goal is not to add yet another tool, but to make sure data and activities can be organised once and reused across several steps of farm management.
Farms
Digital farm management, from the field to business processes
doliFARM supports the digitisation of farming activities and the organisation of business information, with the aim of creating a more continuous flow between field and enterprise.
Activities, production, data, traceability, batches, stock and administrative processes can be read as parts of the same system, reducing double entry and manual handovers.
The approach is designed both for farms and for agronomists and advisors who work with several holdings and need to organise data and processes coherently.
Bio-districts and territories
Digital tools for bio-districts, farm networks and territorial systems
A bio-district or a territorial network does not simply manage individual farms: it has to connect people, information, projects and shared objectives.
doliFARM can support these settings by creating digital environments in which multi-farm data, activities, reporting and collaboration are organised while keeping a common view of the territory.
The aim is to encourage tools that are replicable and locally governable, so that each territorial project does not become an isolated system.
Agroecological communities & Living Labs
Technology for agroecological communities and Living Labs
The agroecological transition requires collaboration between farmers, citizens, researchers, businesses and local organisations. Living Labs turn that collaboration into concrete experimentation, testing problems and solutions in real settings.
doliFARM explores digital tools that make it easier to share information, coordinate activities and build common knowledge within agroecological communities and networks.
Technology becomes a support for collaboration and learning, rather than an end in itself.
Research and innovation
Research, experimentation and digital innovation for agriculture
doliFARM works with universities, research bodies, territories and project partners to develop and test digital tools applied to agriculture, food systems and the agroecological transition.
Research projects, Living Labs and field trials become opportunities to test methods, integrate data and turn project results into reusable capabilities and tools.
The aim is a stable bridge between research and application, so that knowledge, prototypes and data do not stay confined to a single project.
A meeting point between field, enterprise, network and knowledge
The value of a digital infrastructure does not come from the number of features available, but from its ability to connect processes that today live in different tools, organisations and moments.
Field
Activities, crops, production and information collected where farming actually happens.
Enterprise
The organisational, administrative and documentary processes that turn farming activity into a business.
Network
Producers, cooperatives, communities, bio-districts and organisations that share flows, information and objectives.
Knowledge
Data, research and experimentation that help understand, assess and improve farming systems.
doliFARM works at the intersection of these four worlds. The aim is that a piece of information can gain value beyond the point where it was generated, reducing fragmentation and improving the capacity to coordinate.
Digitising without creating new dependencies
doliFARM starts from a clear orientation: technology should increase an organisation’s ability to govern its own processes and its own data, not create new dependencies. That is why the approach favours interoperability, data continuity and the ability to integrate different tools and actors.
- Interoperability
- Connecting different data, applications and processes to reduce duplication and make information exchange simpler.
- Autonomy
- Supporting a use of data that remains governable by the organisation and can follow the evolution of its processes.
- Collaboration
- Designing tools that are useful not only to the individual farm, but also to advisors, cooperatives, networks, territories and communities.
- Agroecology
- Using digital tools to support the knowledge, management and experimentation of more resilient and collaborative farming systems.
How openness works in practice: the code The six principles we follow
The code is open and verifiable
doliFARM is built on the Dolibarr ERP/CRM open source ecosystem. Published components are available in GitHub repositories under their respective open source licences. Repositories, documentation and usage terms make the project’s open perimeter verifiable.
- Reducing vendor dependency
- Open code, data portability and interoperability are designed to increase the autonomy of the organisations that use doliFARM.
- Verifiable
- A claim about how a published component works can be checked by reading the code and the documentation, not only the brochure.
- Built on what exists
- Dolibarr is a mature base maintained by an international community: doliFARM adds the agricultural domain rather than starting from scratch.
- Given back
- What is built inside research projects and Living Labs can return to the public as a module other territories can reuse.
The doliFARM components
- doliFARMThe core component: farm records and management.
- doliTraceTraceability: batches and steps along the supply chain.
- doliGASSolidarity purchasing groups: from order to delivery.
- doliAgroPassExperimental module supporting the reading and self-assessment of agroecological practices, and accompanying improvement pathways.

Six principles for digital tools that include rather than exclude
The way doliFARM designs its tools follows the principles for digital inclusion developed within the Agroecological TRANSITIONS programme. They are not a slogan: they are criteria you can judge a tool against — ours included.
Engage diverse farmers
Understand who is being left out, and make tools usable by those who are not at the centre of the market.
Enhance access
Invest in digital skills, open access to tools and data, and use business models that do not exclude.
Co-create practices
Context-relevant tools, information flows between farmers and advisors, participatory validation of data.
Use technology appropriately
Only when it adds value, favouring simple solutions and keeping human intermediaries in the loop.
Use farmers’ data responsibly
Privacy, informed and ongoing consent, and sharing the analysis back with those who provided the data.
Develop tools responsibly
Build on what exists, support farmers’ agency, and keep governance transparent and accountable.

Research: published work
Part of doliFARM’s work comes from the encounter between research, farmers, territories and digital innovation. Projects become opportunities to experiment in real settings, gather evidence and turn what works into reusable tools and knowledge.

Working with several farms? Let’s make the flow simpler.
Agronomists, advisors and professional organisations often work with information spread across several holdings, tools and deadlines. doliFARM is developing a multi-farm approach that makes it simpler to organise data, processes and collaboration without losing control over each client’s perimeter.
Frequently asked questions
